Malaysia remains confident despite rising competition in the manufacturing sector
Malaysia is unfazed by increasing competition in the manufacturing industry following the US’ decision to strengthen trade and investment ties with Vietnam. According to Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Zafrul Aziz, the country views the US-Vietnam partnership as an opportunity rather than a threat. Malaysia has launched a new industrial plan to enhance its manufacturing sector, a key driver of foreign direct investments (FDIs). The nation is set to invest billions in semiconductor and artificial intelligence deals, reinforcing its position as a competitive player in the region’s evolving economic landscape.
