Two New Ride-Hailing Operators to Launch in Singapore

Geo Lah and Trans-Cab Receive Provisional Licences for 2025

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded provisional ride-hailing licences to two new operators, Geo Lah and Trans-cab Services, marking their entry into the Singapore market in 2025. These operators will hold one-year provisional licences, allowing them time to meet regulatory standards before being considered for full Ride-Hail Service Operator Licences.

In the same announcement, the LTA confirmed that all existing operators, including major taxi and ride-hailing services, will have their licences renewed. The updates, part of a broader review of the point-to-point (P2P) transport sector, aim to improve service reliability, reduce disruptions, and expand service accessibility. Changes also include more flexible requirements for taxi driver vocational licences and new tools for comparing trip data across platforms. The review’s goal is to stabilise taxi supply and enhance service quality, ensuring that the sector serves a wide range of users effectively.
