Festival Highlights Focus on Empowering Employers, Workers, and Students
The SkillsFuture Festival 2024 is set to kick off on July 9, running until August 21, offering a blend of physical, online, and hybrid events designed for companies, workers, and students. The festival’s opening event, the SkillsFuture Forum, titled “Recognising Skills, Building Careers,” will discuss how companies and industry bodies collaborate to certify and recognize essential skills that boost workers’ employability.
Organized by SkillsFuture Singapore and The Business Times, the forum will feature a panel of industry experts. Key speakers include Dilys Boey from Workforce Singapore, Lim Minhan from Ensign InfoSecurity, Jedrick Tan from Fei Siong FastFood, and Gloria Arlini from Generation Singapore. Education Minister Chan Chun Sing will give the opening address.
Beyond the forum, the festival will feature two roadshows—one from July 11-14 and another from August 15-18. These roadshows will focus on in-demand skills, career opportunities, and SkillsFuture initiatives, with personalized career coaching available. Additionally, Thrive@Libraries events will provide professional growth workshops covering topics like artificial intelligence and career development.
Other specialized roadshows will highlight career opportunities in healthcare, early childhood education, and other growth sectors, providing further opportunities for skills development and networking throughout the event.
