Expanding regional presence with a focus on internationalisation
The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) has announced a significant investment of S$3 million over the next three years to establish overseas learning centres. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen the accounting body’s international footprint.
Currently, ISCA has 12 overseas chapters across 10 different markets, with plans to expand its reach by setting up learning centres in at least six of these locations by the end of 2024. These centres aim to help foreign trainees gain qualifications in Singapore’s accounting standards, enabling them to either work in Singapore or offer outsourced services to companies based in the Republic.
Teo Ser Luck, President of ISCA, emphasized that the new centres will be crucial for enhancing the accounting body’s regional presence and supporting its global ambitions. The move underscores Singapore’s commitment to fostering international expertise in the accounting field.
