International tourist numbers reached 1.42 million in July, with China leading the way
In July 2023, Singapore’s tourism numbers saw a significant boost, with international visitor arrivals rising to 1.42 million. This growth was largely fueled by the return of Chinese tourists, who more than doubled from June, with 231,326 visitors arriving from China alone. This marked a strong recovery for the sector, with July’s numbers being nearly double the 726,739 visitors recorded in the same month in 2022.
Singapore is on track to surpass 13 million visitors for the year, which would more than double the 6.3 million visitors recorded in 2022. The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) forecasts between 12 million and 14 million visitors in 2023, highlighting a positive trend for the country’s tourism sector. The growth reflects a broader global recovery and Singapore’s attractiveness as a destination.
