Singapore Firms’ Optimism About Business Prospects Reaches Two-Year High in Q2

Improved Sentiment Across Manufacturing and Services Sectors, Survey Finds

A quarterly survey has revealed that Singaporean companies’ optimism for the next six months reached a two-year high in Q2 of 2024, reflecting an improvement in the business environment.

The net balance for business prospects increased to 8% in Q2, a 5-point gain from the previous quarter, according to the Business Times-Singapore University of Social Sciences (BT-SUSS) Business Climate Survey. The survey results align with improved sentiments among manufacturing and services companies, as seen in recent government surveys. A positive net balance indicates that more firms expect expansion compared to those predicting a decline.
