New Routes Include Penang, Bali, Indian Cities, Greece, and Vietnam Starting March 16, 2022
SINGAPORE: From March 16, 2022, Singapore will expand its Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) to more cities in Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Greece, and Vietnam, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
The extension includes Penang, which will join Kuala Lumpur under the VTL for Malaysia, with four daily flights operating between Singapore and Penang. Similarly, the VTL for Indonesia will now cover Bali-Denpasar, with daily flights from Bali to Singapore starting on the same date. The VTL for India will also be broadened to encompass all cities across the country.
Additionally, two new VTLs will be introduced for Greece and Vietnam. From March 16, Singapore will offer quarantine-free travel with Greece, further strengthening its VTL connections with Europe. Vietnam, which plans to reopen its borders to international tourists on March 15, will restore two-way quarantine-free travel with Singapore through the new VTL.
To travel under the VTL, eligible travellers from Greece and Vietnam must apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) from March 13 at 10 a.m. (Singapore time). However, Singapore Citizens, permanent residents, long-term pass holders, and children aged 12 and below are exempt from this application.
These updates signify Singapore’s ongoing efforts to facilitate safe and seamless international travel while supporting global tourism recovery.
