Singapore Arcades Adapt to Stay Relevant with New Trends and Technologies

Innovation and Collaboration Are Key to Attracting Customers Back to Arcades

Singapore’s arcades are embracing new trends to keep patrons engaged. From cooperative games and virtual reality (VR) experiences to collaborations with popular franchises, arcades are fighting to maintain their relevance in the face of fierce competition from home gaming consoles and LAN centres.

Timezone, Singapore’s largest arcade chain, has witnessed steady footfall at its flagship location at Orchard Xchange, with around 500 guests visiting on busy days. The inclusion of original plushie prizes and partnerships with beloved brands has helped attract a diverse range of customers.

However, the challenge lies in keeping up with the costly trend of new machines, with prices for new arcade machines reaching up to US$100,000. Despite the high cost of staying on top of the gaming world, arcade operators have found ways to entice both new visitors and loyal patrons.
