Against all odds, a family venture crafts a premium Indonesian yacht during global travel restrictions.
As the Covid-19 pandemic locked down New York City in March 2020, many Americans chose to return home to be with family. However, for fashion designer Jasmine Tabalujan Chong, a journey back to Malaysia was impossible due to travel restrictions. Born in Malaysia and having spent her early years there, Jasmine later moved to Melbourne, Australia, for boarding school. With her homecoming plans thwarted by the pandemic, Jasmine, alongside her sibling and Indonesian business partners, shifted focus toward an ambitious new project — constructing a luxury yacht in Indonesia.
This bold venture, born out of the global crisis, highlights the resilience and determination of the siblings. Their luxury yacht combines sophisticated Southeast Asian craftsmanship with high-end modern design, showcasing a seamless fusion of regional artistry and premium luxury. Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, their passion for creating this vessel has been unwavering, making it a testament to their entrepreneurial spirit.
