Boeing 777-300ER Flight SQ333 Makes Emergency Landing in Baku
A Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight from Paris to Singapore was diverted to Baku, Azerbaijan, on September 8 due to a technical issue. The Boeing 777-300ER, flight SQ333, landed safely at Heydar Aliyev International Airport at 6:35 am local time (10:35 am Singapore time) without incident.
The flight, carrying 229 passengers and 18 crew members, completed its emergency landing uneventfully, and all passengers disembarked as scheduled. In response to the diversion, SIA confirmed that a relief flight would be arranged to transport the affected passengers and crew back to Singapore, with further details to be announced.
The airline has provided assistance to those impacted, including meals and hotel accommodation. SIA apologised for the disruption, stressing that the safety of its customers and crew is always its top priority.
Flight tracker Flightradar24 noted that SQ333 had departed from Paris at 11:20 pm on Thursday, with an original arrival time at Singapore’s Changi Airport set for 5:30 pm on Friday. This incident follows a similar diversion earlier in the year, when another SIA Boeing 777-300ER flight from London to Singapore returned shortly after takeoff due to engine vibrations.
