PropertyGuru Acquires Home-Service Technology Startup Sendhelper

Acquisition paves way for entry into the home-services market

Singapore-based online real estate platform PropertyGuru has acquired home-service technology startup Sendhelper for an undisclosed amount, marking its entry into the home-services sector. The company announced the acquisition on Friday, October 14, stating that it does not expect the move to significantly impact its FY2022 financial results.

Sendhelper operates an online platform connecting homeowners and tenants with over 2,000 trained and verified freelance service providers for services such as cleaning, air conditioner maintenance, and general repairs.

“With Sendhelper, PropertyGuru expands its offering, becoming a one-stop destination where property seekers can find, finance, own, manage, and maintain their homes,” the company said in its statement.

PropertyGuru highlighted the acquisition’s long-term potential, noting its alignment with the group’s broader goals of expanding into fintech and data-driven industries while continuing to strengthen its core property marketplace business.

Shyn Yee Ho-Strangas, Managing Director of Data and Software Solutions at PropertyGuru, emphasised the company’s commitment to innovation: “We aim to develop game-changing solutions that empower people to make confident property decisions.” She added that the team will work with Sendhelper to roll out more technology-driven solutions to enhance customer experiences.
