Leadership Changes in Eunos and Paya Lebar Ahead of 2025 Election
The People’s Action Party (PAP) has appointed two new branch chairs in the Worker’s Party-controlled Aljunied GRC, refreshing its leadership slate in the constituency that has been under WP control since 2011.
Jagathishwaran Rajo, 37, a trade unionist, has been appointed chair of Eunos ward, while Kenny Sim, 55, CEO of IT reseller Serial Achieva, will take over Paya Lebar. Jagathishwaran replaces bank executive Chua Eng Leong, and Sim succeeds lawyer Alex Yeo.
The appointments signal that both new leaders are likely to be part of the PAP’s slate for the upcoming 2025 general election. The two new branch chairs will receive support from their predecessors during the transition period.
