Isca initiative shortens the qualification timeline to 18 months with S$5 million funding
The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (Isca) has introduced a new pathway for accounting undergraduates in Singapore’s autonomous universities to earn their professional qualifications at an accelerated pace. This two-year trial initiative is designed to reduce the qualification time to around 18 months, about half the usual duration.
With an investment of S$5 million, Isca aims to sponsor up to 4,000 students as part of a broader S$15 million effort to increase the number of chartered accountants in Singapore. This initiative reflects the country’s push to address the growing demand for skilled accountants in the workforce. Isca’s president, Teo Ser Luck, highlighted that the program’s streamlined process will help students achieve their qualifications faster, facilitating a more efficient path to entering the professional accounting field.
