Health, Manufacturing Sectors Continue to Lead Singapore’s Gender Pay Gap

Gender pay gap narrows overall, but disparities persist in certain sectors

Singapore’s overall gender pay gap has decreased, standing at 14.3% in 2023, down from 16.3% in 2018. However, industries with the largest gender pay disparities five years ago still exhibit significant gaps. The health and social services sectors remain at the forefront, with a gender pay gap of 29% in 2023, although this has narrowed considerably from 38% in 2018.

This data reflects the median salaries of full-time resident employees aged 25 to 54. Despite the overall improvement, sectors like health and social services continue to experience the most pronounced gender pay gaps.
