250 assisted-living flats at Chai Chee Green BTO development to cater to seniors seeking independent living
In December, 250 community care apartments will be launched for sale in Bedok as part of the Chai Chee Green Build-To-Order (BTO) development, aimed at helping seniors age independently. This initiative integrates senior-friendly housing with social activities and care services.
These apartments, specifically designed for elderly residents, are part of a 1,234-unit BTO project, offering various flat types (three-room, four-room, and five-room) to foster intergenerational bonding and inclusivity.
Each community care apartment spans 32 square meters and is equipped with features like grab bars, wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, slip-resistant flooring, and wide doors for accessibility. The design also allows for open layouts that can be customized with sliding partitions to suit individual needs.
Residents will subscribe to a basic service package that includes 24-hour emergency monitoring, basic health checks, and access to care services. Additional services, such as daycare, laundry, and meal services, are available at extra costs.
The project offers a flexible lease option ranging from 15 to 35 years, allowing seniors to live comfortably in their later years. Applicants, along with their spouse, must be at least 65 years old to apply.
The apartments will also provide easy access to community facilities, including eating houses, residents’ network centres, and several MRT stations such as Bedok North, Bedok, and Kembangan.
An exhibition on the apartments is open to the public at the HDB Hub from November 30. Interested individuals can visit the exhibition or make an appointment online for more details.
