Circles.Life Expands Workforce Amid Global Growth Plans

Digital telco boosts hiring to support Circles X platform

Circles.Life, a digital telco, has announced plans to increase its Singapore workforce by 25–35% in the coming year as it expands its proprietary Circles X software platform. This cloud-based solution, which simplifies operations for telcos, has already facilitated successful launches in Taiwan and Australia.

Driving Innovation with Circles X
Circles X operates on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, enabling telcos to streamline operations by reducing reliance on multiple vendors. Its growing adoption includes partnerships with Indonesia’s XL Axiata, which launched the fully digital brand Live. On, and Japan’s KDDI, which introduced povo2.0.

As telcos worldwide accelerate digital transformation, Circles.Life aims to acquire more customers for Circles X. The company is hiring software engineers, product managers, and digital marketers to support this growth.

Resilience and Restructuring
Despite challenges during the pandemic, Circles.Life’s leadership emphasised that a small round of layoffs in early 2021 was unrelated to financial strain, instead focusing on operational efficiency. The company’s international back-end processes were centralised in the Philippines to optimise its global expansion.

Recent financial filings showed a 17.3% revenue growth to S$103.6 million for the year ending December 2020. Losses narrowed to S$14.9 million, supported by improved operations and government grants.

Leadership and Global Expansion
To strengthen its leadership team, Circles.Life appointed Stephanie Nash as Chief People Officer, alongside other experienced hires, such as former PayPal Venmo CTO Dhanush Hetti and ex-Singtel CFO Mak Chee Kiong.

Circles.Life’s global workforce exceeds 450 employees, spread across Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, South Asia, and beyond. The company also plans to enhance its employee stock option programme, rewarding high performers with stock options equivalent to up to eight months of salary annually.

With its robust hiring strategy and innovative Circles X platform, Circles.Life is well-positioned for continued growth in the competitive digital telco landscape.
