Consolidation of Singapore’s EV Charging Sector Accelerates with Charge+ Acquisition
Charge+, a leading electric vehicle (EV) charging point operator (CPO) in Singapore, has acquired 140 chargers from three companies that have ceased their commercial charging services.
The acquisition, which adds to Charge+’s growing network, brings the total number of charging points under the company to around 2,500 across Singapore. The chargers are located in 42 locations, including public spaces like the Esplanade and private condominiums.
The companies involved in the deal – eChargz, PaC Components, and Quickcharge.sg – will continue their involvement in the EV-charging sector, focusing on areas like selling chargers for private homes, supplying components, and installing chargers. However, they will no longer operate public chargers.
The acquisition, which had already been completed before Dec 7, highlights the consolidation phase within Singapore’s EV charging market. Charge+ declined to disclose the cost of the transaction, but it marks a significant step in the company’s expansion strategy.
Users can now access these newly acquired chargers through the Charge+ app.
