A Winter Wonderland in Singapore: Experience Authentic Snow and Ice Adventures

An Unmissable Pop-Up Event Brings Olympic-Level Snow to Bayfront

When winter holidays fill social media with snowy landscapes, not everyone can afford a luxurious getaway. Luckily, Singaporeans can now revel in a winter experience closer to home. Welcome to the Ice Magic festival – a sprawling 2,400 sq m winter playground located at Bayfront, featuring “real” snow made with cutting-edge Olympic-quality machines.

A Winter Wonderland in the Tropics
Inside a towering 11.5m-tall tent, Ice Magic stands as Singapore’s largest-ever winter-themed pop-up attraction. Originating in Beijing, where it was hosted annually from 2009 to 2019, the festival celebrates the city’s iconic first snowfall. From 1 December 2022 to 1 January 2023, Singapore will boast its own edition, split into two immersive sections: Snow and Ice.

Snow Section: Dive into Authentic Winter Fun

This section highlights snow produced with the advanced technology used at the recent Beijing Winter Olympics. Promising a truly realistic snowy experience, visitors can enjoy making snow angels, building snowmen, and strolling through soft, powdery snow. The main attraction? A massive 70m snow slope – Singapore’s tallest and longest – designed for thrilling descents.

Ice Section: Adventure Meets Chill

Prefer icy sports? The Ice section caters to the adventurous with activities like ice bowling, curling, and sliding down a 4.5m-high figure-eight ice slide. For couples or friends, the ice cycling rink offers a unique way to bond. Alternatively, relax at the Ice Bar with frosty drinks while admiring intricate ice sculptures crafted by master artisans from Harbin, China – home to the renowned Harbin Ice Festival.
