London to Enjoy a Warm, Sunny Spell Before Easter Showers Arrive

Six days of unbroken sunshine expected in the capital, but unsettled weather could return for Easter weekend

Londoners are in for a sun-soaked week as forecasters predict a stretch of warm, settled weather continuing through to Sunday, with the capital enjoying up to six consecutive days of sunshine.

According to the Met Office, temperatures are set to climb gradually, peaking at around 23°C on both Friday and Saturday — the warmest temperatures of 2025 so far. This unseasonably warm spell has even outshone southern European destinations like Ibiza, Rhodes and Cyprus, where temperatures have remained lower due to Storm Nuria.

For families staying in the UK during the Easter holidays, it’s been a fortunate start to April, with dry skies and rising temperatures sending many rushing for outdoor plans and barbecues.

The current calm weather is being sustained by high pressure over the UK, which has helped fend off cloud systems and rain fronts. This follows one of the driest Marches on record, especially for parts of England and Wales.

But the pleasant conditions might not last. Forecasters are warning that change is on the horizon just in time for the Easter bank holiday. From early next week, weather models suggest a shift to more unsettled conditions. The Met Office has highlighted the likelihood of Atlantic weather systems and southern showers moving in, possibly bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds — particularly across the south and west of the UK.

BBC Weather also predicts a wet Sunday for London, with further rainfall expected into the following week. However, some hope remains: current projections show Good Friday through Easter Sunday could still feature dry and partly sunny intervals, with highs around 18–19°C in the capital.

With the forecast still evolving, residents are advised to make the most of the current warm spell — and perhaps keep a brolly handy for Easter weekend.
