Malaysia Confident Amid US-Vietnam Trade Developments

Zafrul Aziz highlights Malaysia’s strategy to strengthen its manufacturing sector

Malaysia remains confident despite rising competition in the manufacturing industry following the US’ efforts to deepen trade and investment ties with Vietnam. Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry Zafrul Aziz stated that Malaysia sees the US-Vietnam partnership as an opportunity rather than a challenge. In response, the country has launched a new industrial strategy aimed at enhancing its manufacturing sector, a key driver of foreign direct investments (FDIs). With planned multi-billion-dollar investments in semiconductors and artificial intelligence, Malaysia is reinforcing its position as a competitive force in ASEAN’s evolving economic landscape.
