A Strategic Collaboration to Support Talent Mobility Between Accounting Bodies
In a significant move to strengthen global mobility within the accounting profession, the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (Isca) has signed a mutual-recognition agreement with CPA Australia. This partnership, announced on October 6, 2023, enables Isca members to join CPA Australia without meeting additional qualification requirements.
Under this new agreement, Isca members who have achieved the Singapore Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification and maintained Isca membership for five consecutive years can directly apply to join CPA Australia. Similarly, CPA Australia members can join Isca by completing the required modules, including the Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification’s Integrative Business Solutions module, and fulfilling relevant work experience criteria.
The agreement was developed after both organizations, alongside the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), conducted a comprehensive assessment to ensure the equivalence of the educational, experiential, and professional standards of both accounting bodies.
Isca Chief Executive Fann Kor emphasized the importance of this collaboration, saying, “Together with CPA Australia, we aim to create new opportunities for our members, promote knowledge sharing, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the global accountancy profession.” This partnership aims to enhance the career opportunities for accounting professionals, facilitating international transitions and fostering a more interconnected global accounting community.
