Law Society elects Sam Hui Min Lisa as president

Sam Hui Min Lisa becomes the third female president in the history of the Law Society of Singapore

The Law Society of Singapore has elected Sam Hui Min Lisa as its 29th president, marking a significant milestone as she becomes the third female president in the history of the society. She is the first woman to take on this role in two decades, following Arfat Selvam, who served as president in 2003.

Sam, the managing partner of Lisa Sam and Company, has extensive experience in corporate law, commercial litigation, family law, and general litigation. She was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1997 and has worked in various law firms before establishing her own practice in 2004.

Sam has been actively involved with the Law Society, serving as vice-president of the executive committee since 2021 and holding other roles within the society. She will take over the presidency from Jason Chan Tai-Hui on January 1, 2024, for a term lasting until December 31, 2024. Chan was elected as president in July 2023 after the passing of the society’s 27th president, Adrian Tan.
