Shatec Expands Hospitality and Culinary Courses to Orchard Road and the Middle East

Shatec’s new satellite campuses aim to upskill talent and meet industry demands

After four decades, the Singapore Hotel Association Training and Education Centre (Shatec) is expanding its presence by opening its first overseas institute in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with classes set to begin in the second half of 2024. This follows the launch of its satellite campus at Orchard Road in January, marking a return close to its origins at Nassim Hill.

Shatec’s chief executive, Lim Boon Kwee, emphasized the institution’s mission to upskill talent, not only through full-time qualifications but also by offering career-switch opportunities. Highlighting the ongoing shortage of hospitality professionals, he stated the importance of providing accessible training to those interested in entering the industry.

The new initiatives reflect Shatec’s commitment to addressing workforce challenges and equipping individuals with the skills needed for a successful career in hospitality.
