PM Lee and President Widodo to Endorse Key Agreements in Bogor on April 29
Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo will hold their final bilateral retreat as national leaders in Bogor, Indonesia, on April 29. This marks their seventh and last such meeting before both leaders step down later this year.
The retreat will focus on strengthening bilateral ties, with both leaders expected to endorse additional agreements in areas such as defence, the digital economy, and sustainability. These agreements aim to bolster cooperation between the two Southeast Asian nations, ensuring continuity in their strategic partnership.
PM Lee, who has been Singapore’s leader since 2004, is set to hand over the premiership to Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on May 15. Meanwhile, President Widodo will complete his second and final term in office in October, passing leadership to Prabowo Subianto after a transition period.
The Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat has been an annual tradition, reinforcing the long-standing diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
