Two More Seniors Die from Covid-19, Singapore’s Death Toll Reaches 95

2,478 New Cases Reported as Infections Continue to Rise

Singapore reported two additional Covid-19 fatalities, raising the country’s total death toll to 95, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH). The deceased were a 79-year-old permanent resident and an 87-year-old citizen, both of whom were unvaccinated and had underlying health conditions.

This marks the 11th consecutive day of reported Covid-19 deaths in Singapore. The country also recorded 2,478 new infections, comprising 2,022 community cases, 452 infections in migrant worker dormitories, and four imported cases. Among the local cases, 535 seniors aged 60 and above tested positive.

A new cluster emerged at MWS Christalite Methodist Home in Marsiling, with 29 confirmed cases, including 28 residents and one staff member. Additionally, six new clusters have been identified in migrant worker dormitories, the largest being 9 Defu South Street 1, which recorded 151 cases.

As Singapore continues to battle rising infections, health authorities urge vigilance, vaccinations, and strict adherence to safety measures to curb the spread of the virus.
