Workers’ Party appoints key leaders as it prepares for the next general election.
The Workers’ Party (WP) has named its new office bearers following internal elections held in June, as the party looks ahead to the next general election. Sengkang GRC Member of Parliament (MP) Jamus Lim has been appointed as the president of the youth wing, while his GRC colleague Louis Chua will head the media team.
Other notable appointments include Fadli Fawzi, a lawyer, who has been co-opted as one of four deputy organising secretaries. Fawzi was part of the WP team in Marine Parade GRC during the last general election. Additionally, former Punggol East MP Lee Li Lian returns to the central executive committee (CEC) after a four-year hiatus and takes on the role of deputy head of the media team.
Pritam Singh remains the secretary-general, and Sylvia Lim continues as the chair of the party. Other members retained their positions, including Faisal Manap (vice-chair), He Ting Ru (treasurer), and Dennis Tan (organising secretary). The party also confirmed that it will continue to strengthen its leadership team ahead of the general election, scheduled by November 2025.
