Zenith Enhances Its Legacy with New Chronograph Variations

A Focus on High-Frequency Precision and Design Heritage

Zenith continues to leverage its core competency in automatic high-frequency chronographs, introducing innovative variations while staying true to its heritage.

Chronomaster Original

The Chronomaster Original stands as the true successor to the legendary Zenith A386, first powered by the El Primero calibre, the world’s initial automatic high-frequency integrated chronograph movement. Since its inception 50 years ago, the A386 has been the benchmark for chronograph excellence. Zenith has now enhanced this legacy with models that can measure time down to 1/10th and 1/100th of a second.

The new watch is nearly identical to the A386, featuring a 38mm steel case with a bezel-less design, pump-style pushers, and a dial echoing the iconic tri-colour registers. However, the bracelet has been updated to a solid link design, and the dial now includes a 1/10th of a second scale for more precise time measurement. The movement, the El Primero 3600, offers a 60-hour power reserve at 5 hertz.

Price: S$12,400 to S$27,800

Chronomaster Original (Ladies)

Zenith has adapted the Chronomaster Original for a female audience, adding diamonds and vibrant dial colors. This version retains the high-performance El Primero 3600 movement but features 56 diamonds on the lugs, enhancing its allure. The dial options include multicoloured mother-of-pearl or taupe tri-colour, each set with diamonds for the hour markers, paired with matching calfskin straps.

Price: S$18,400

Chronomaster Boutique Edition

Celebrating the opening of Zenith’s sole boutique in Switzerland, located at their Le Locle factory, the Boutique Edition merges the classic design of the 1969 El Primero with the latest high-frequency movement. It sports a unique blue dial with silver registers, available in both steel bracelet and leather strap options.

Price: S$12,400 (leather strap), S$13,100 (steel bracelet)

Chronomaster Sport

This model introduces a new era of sporty elegance with its black ceramic bezel featuring a direct 1/10th of a second display. The watch maintains the tri-colour sub-dials of the original A386, with options for black or white dials, and can be fitted with either an integrated steel bracelet or a Cordura-effect rubber strap.

Price: S$13,800 (rubber strap), S$14,500 (steel bracelet), S$30,800 (rose gold)

Defy Extreme

An extension of the Defy line, the Defy Extreme is designed with a bold, futuristic aesthetic, featuring a larger 45mm case with sharp, angular lines. It’s characterized by its robust construction, including protective elements around the pushers and a 12-sided ring under the bezel. The movement allows for 1/100th of a second measurements with dual escapements for enhanced precision. Offered with multiple strap options, including a Velcro strap, this model combines durability with style.

Price: S$26,300 (titanium), S$32,100 (titanium & rose gold)

Zenith’s latest releases not only pay homage to its rich history but also push the boundaries of watchmaking technology and design, ensuring that the brand remains at the forefront of the luxury watch industry.
