SIA Engineering Enhances Maintenance Partnership with Hawaiian Airlines

New Agreement Extends Airframe Services for Airbus A330-200 Fleet

SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) has expanded its partnership with Hawaiian Airlines through a new maintenance agreement that will cover additional services for the airline’s Airbus A330-200 fleet. This agreement builds on the existing arrangement between the two companies, which already includes heavy checks and painting services for Hawaiian’s A330 aircraft.

Under the new deal, SIAEC will carry out 12-year maintenance checks starting in March 2022 at its Singapore facility. Despite the expansion of services, the company does not anticipate any significant impact on its per-share earnings or net tangible assets for the current financial year.

In a statement to the Singapore Exchange, SIAEC highlighted Hawaiian Airlines’ status as the largest and longest-serving airline in Hawaii. Hawaiian Airlines operates approximately 130 flights within the Hawaiian Islands, along with international routes to 16 US cities, Tahiti, American Samoa, Japan, and South Korea.

Ng Chin Hwee, CEO of SIAEC, expressed pride in the extended relationship with Hawaiian Airlines, seeing it as a clear endorsement of SIAEC’s airframe maintenance services. He emphasised the company’s strong technical expertise and extensive maintenance experience, which positions it well to support Hawaiian Airlines’ A330 fleet.

SIAEC’s shares rose by 1.9%, closing at S$2.14 on Thursday, reflecting positive market sentiment towards the expanded partnership.
